Dinitrol Rustproofing and Underbody Protection
Rust is Kingsley's nemisis and when I met a chap called Ian Allan of Rustbusters, I knew that I had found a kindred spirit. Ian is obsessed with the prevention and cure of rust and I knew that Kingsley should follow his well-proven system and purchase all of our rust proofing products from Rustbusters.
As a starting point we have to remove any rust and flaking paint from the vehicle, loose rust, dirt or grease will act as an unstable layer beneath the Dinitrol potentially allowing it to fail so we use a concentrated caustic detergent that breaks down the grease and leaves the surface perfectly clean, and ready to take a surface treatment.
Once the underside of the car has been degreased and washed the surface rust can be easily removed with an MBX Metal blaster power brush which will give you almost as good a white steel surface profile and cleanliness as blast cleaning without the loss of any good metal or the introduction of heat or acid. Surface corrosion is treated with Rustbuster FE-123 rust converter but holed corrosion has to be cut out to good metal and then butt-welded (not plated as this allows the corrosion to fester and grow under the plate).
We then coat the underside in DINITROL 4941 which is a superior self-healing underbody product which will not dry out or flake off. When applied hot to a clean, dry surface, it adheres to both painted surfaces and those coated with a layer of PVC or similar material. Zinc, rubber and plastics are completely unharmed by the product.

For additional protection for chassis, suspension components (and any other treated steel), a coating of Rustbuster Epoxy-Mastic 121 will protect the steel in a completely impervious flexible iron hard barrier that will prevent the steel from future rust. This can either be left as a top coating or it can be over-coated with Dinitrol, waxes, sound deadeners, stone chip coatings or primers and topcoats.
The slow cure epoxy in Epoxy-Mastic 121 ensures that the coating is completely bonded to the steel at every square millimetre in an extremely tough but flexible barrier coating. Even if the system is breached by a sharp stone flying at bullet like speed the stone chip will only corrode at that point, due to the primary bond it is not able to travel under the coating and cause de lamination. At a later inspection the rust spot can be treated and with Rustbuster FE-123 rust converter and repaired with a touch up of Epoxy-Mastic.
