Description

DESCRIPTION

We are delighted to offer this exceptional 1972 Range Rover Suffix A, presented in its original and highly desirable Lincoln Green colour scheme. A landmark vehicle in British automotive history, the early Suffix A models are regarded among the purest and most collectible examples of the Range Rover Classic lineage.

This particular example underwent a comprehensive restoration by renowned Land Rover specialists A&D 4x4 between 2015 and 2017, with a clear emphasis placed on originality, usability and long-term preservation. The restoration was carried out to an exceptionally high standard throughout, resulting in a beautifully presented and highly usable early Range Rover.

Exterior & Chassis
The body shell was stripped back to bare metal, acid dipped and carefully restored where required before being refinished in Lincoln Green - one of the original launch-era colours offered by Land Rover. The vehicle retains the elegant simplicity and understated character that defines the earliest two-door Classics.

Underneath, the rolling chassis was fully rebuilt using a galvanised chassis finished in the durable Raptor protective coating system, ensuring excellent longevity and structural integrity.

Interior
The cabin has been sympathetically restored and retrimmed using materials closely matching the factory specification, preserving the authentic look and feel of the original interior. Seats, door cards, headlining and flooring were all renewed as part of the restoration process, creating a clean and period-correct environment.

Subtle usability improvements include later-style headrests for added comfort and safety while maintaining the vehicle’s classic appearance.

Mechanical SpecificationPowered by the iconic 3.5-litre Rover V8 engine and paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox, this Suffix A delivers the unmistakable character and driving experience that established the Range Rover as a true pioneer of the luxury 4x4 segment.

During restoration, the original engine and transmission components were removed, inspected and refurbished, with the mechanical elements rebuilt and detailed throughout.

Accompanying Documentation
This vehicle is accompanied by an extensive history file including restoration invoices, photographic documentation of the rebuild process, correspondence relating to the restoration and a certified copy of the original factory record.

A rare opportunity to acquire an early two-door Range Rover Classic restored with a genuine respect for originality and craftsmanship - equally suited to collection, investment or continued enjoyment on the road.
